Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

Following a string of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Dubbed Space Key and developed in collaboration with an unknown artist the project is inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The physical element of Space Key

After multiple social media posts, each one revealing something that was space-related, the Italian supercar maker Lamborghini introduced the world of non-fungible (NFT) tokens with an exclusive initiative dubbed Space Key. The NFT was created in collaboration with an unknown artist and will be auctioned in just a few weeks. Its core is comprised of an advanced carbon fibre composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research program. The digital artwork

After weeks of social media posts that hinted at it, luxury automobile manufacturer Lamborghini has finally announced its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The Space Key is a collection of five physical items which unlocks a unique digital artwork by an unknown artist. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) The 'collector's piece' is limited to only five units and will be auctioned off in the near future.

Each Space Key contains a block composed of a carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research program. After returning to Earth the block was engraved using a QR codes that connect to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that takes place at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Each of the five images was filmed by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to capture each of the individual shots, which were later merged into the final image. The result is a truly out of this world photograph that captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic look of the car rising away from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, however the exact date and time of the auction haven't yet been announced yet.
