It's smaller than the other options and makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through a clean.

It's very efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't create the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however, this is something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which has a microfiber pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers, which can help to shield certain areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some distinctive features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle a child lock that is a great option for parents concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
